The Grocery Bag

Sure, grocery shopping is faster without my kiddos, but when they do come along, it’s a lot more meaningful. What better place is there to teach them about nutrition, money, and social etiquette? The grocery store is one of my favorite “real life classrooms”. This month’s homework kit brings the grocery store home and also encourages children to bring a little bit of their kit to the grocery store! The Grocery Bag invites students to study a cereal box, buy and sell produce, and write their own grocery lists. Let’s get shopping!

Would you like instructions for making The Grocery Bag, related worksheets, and an activities list so parents will know how to use it with their children? You can request them through the “contact” tab on my website and I will send you the PDF files via email. My kits make homework magical for children. I hope you will take the time to make one and experience the joy and excitement they will bring to your classroom (or your home)!

Please note: This is your last chance to sign up for my free homework kits. As of August 6th, Monaco Lane Homework Kits will be available at my Teachers Pay Teachers store for $4.00 a piece (or $20.00 for ten kits). My original free download (3 kits) will still be available. Sign up by August 6th and you will receive seven more kits in addition to the thirteen I’ve already posted.
