Now Presenting

My boss, co-teacher, and mentor is the woman who encouraged me to share my phonics puppets and reading program with the world. She said the perfect place to start was the annual Asilomar Reading Conference. Nothing sounded more intimidating to me. I decided that I was brave enough to have a vendor’s booth, but not to give a presentation. Then one of the Asilomar co-chairs eased my nerves and convinced me to do both. Only six people attended my presentation, which was slightly disappointing, but also a relief. In such a small setting, I was able to sit down with a friendly group of teachers and tell them about my curriculum comfortably. Three of those teachers bought my entire method: The Monaco Method for Early Literacy, and a few days later another one ordered my Teacher’s Creatures Phonics Puppets and Letter Bags online. It felt so amazing to know that my curriculum was going to be used by other teachers, and that more children would get to learn from something I created! Each and every time someone buys a Monaco Lane teaching tool, I am elated to know that I’m accomplishing what I set out to do. Thank you, Adele, for inspiring me to begin a new adventure!

  1. So honored to be one of the 6 teachers at your asilomar training. My students love the puppets and many teachers ask me where I purchased them. I will continue to refer. Hope to see you at asilomar again. Good luck with your business.

    • Thank you, Cynthia! Unfortunately I am going to miss Asilomar this year. I am going to try the California Kindergarten Association Conference, which focuses specifically on pre-K-1 curriculum and is the same weekend as Asilomar. I hope to attend Asilomar again in the near future!

  2. Yay! I just bought a pocket chart to display my puppets this year. I am so excited to start off this new school year with your puppets. The students loved them last year and I look forward to incorporating them into my curriculum again! Love your new products, too! Congratulations on your success so far and I wish you continued good fortune… You are very talented!
